Purpose of the role
To operate mechanical /electro-mechanical equipment and machines and ensure that the plant is always mechanically operational.
Key Responsibilities
- Record repair and maintenance machine information.
- Reassemble machines after repair or maintenance work.
- Observe mechanical operations to determine levels of efficiencies and detect problems.
- Acquiring material and spares before performing planned maintenance.
- Ensure maintenance tools are adequately maintained and in good working condition.
- Perform maintenance on all equipment in accordance with the maintenance schedule.
- Adhere to quality & safety standards for all maintenance performed.
- Adhere to OHSACT regulations.
- Ensure housekeeping of plant and general areas facilitates a tidy, neat environment – this includes cleaning of maintenance equipment.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Trade Tested Fitter (Red Seal)
- National Senior Certificate/ N3 with Maths, English & Physical Science
- Mechanical Occupational Trade Certificate (Red Seal
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience preferably mining, manufacturing and / or engineering
- Motor Vehicle Drivers License
- Physically fit.
