Purpose of the role
To ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations and standards, oversee quality assurance processes, and support product release and documentation management.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to GMP, SAHPRA, and Pharmacy Council requirements, including quality assurance and health safety standards.
- Oversee the end-to-end product release process, manage deviations, and implement corrective actions.
- Train and mentor pharmacy staff, ensuring compliance with SOPs and ongoing professional development.
- Maintain quality databases, review batch documentation, and ensure that all products meet regulatory and safety standards.
- Continuously review and optimize manufacturing and release processes to improve efficiency and compliance.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- BPharm Degree; must be registered with the South African Pharmacy Council.
- 1-3 years in pharmaceutical manufacturing or quality assurance.
- Comprehensive understanding of GMP, SAHPRA, and Pharmacy Council regulations.
- Proficiency in quality assurance processes, including batch review and documentation control.
- Experience with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards is advantageous.
- Completed Community Service (for junior candidates) with opportunities for training and upskilling.

- Strong interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder and team communication.
- Capability to manage, train, and develop pharmaceutical teams.
