Purpose of the role 

To develop civil infrastructure designs (earthworks, platforms, roads, stormwater, sewer & water) through various project stages, undertakes coordination and carries out design documentation while working as part of the project team. 

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate small to medium projects, manage delivery teams, and ensure projects are completed within scope and budget. 

• Develop civil infrastructure designs including earthworks, roads, stormwater, and utilities using advanced CAD software and BIM processes. 

• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, managing expectations and ensuring the delivery meets their requirements. 

• Prepare technical reports, specifications, bills of quantities, and other key project deliverables. 

• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, contractors, and other engineers. 

Minimum Qualifications & Experience 

• BSc/BEng in Civil Engineering. 

• Professional Engineer registered with ECSA. 

• 5-10 years’ experience in design and project management, with a focus on land infrastructure. 

• Advanced skills in CAD software (AutoCAD Civil3D), and familiarity with BIM processes. 

• Extensive experience in site development, utility and drainage design, road pavement design, and earthworks design. 

• Up-to-date knowledge of engineering codes, standards, and practices. 

Competencies (Skills, Behaviour & Knowledge)

• Strong knowledge of civil engineering analysis software and CAD proficiency. 

• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to lead projects and meet deadlines. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to interact well with personnel at all levels. 

• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior engineers.
