Purpose of the role
To design, maintain, and optimize network infrastructure to ensure maximum performance, security, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and install network hardware and software, including routers, switches, and wireless access points.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to resolve complex network problems.
- Implement and manage security measures to protect networks from unauthorized access, data breaches, and other threats.
- Provide second-level support for network incidents and service requests, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption.
- Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, procedures, and standards, and perform regular network performance analysis and reporting.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- CCNP certification (essential), ITIL certification (preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network administration, preferably in an IT or Industrial IT environment.
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network hardware and software, with strong skills in IP networking.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to work on a shift basis, including weekends and overtime when necessary.
Competencies (Skills, Behaviour & Knowledge)
- Strong knowledge of Cisco solutions, network monitoring tools, and security protocols.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving network issues.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work across different cultures and social groups.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and maintain a positive outlook in a pressurized environment.
